I have finally finished the 12" Panda, and he has turned out really well.
I loved making a larger bear again, he is the first for many years. I used to make up to 18 inch bears years ago, but scaled them down due to demand for the smaller bears.
I have changed the way I trim the noses for the Pud Bears and doing a bit of mohair sculpting on them. Also the eyes have a white rim which really seems to make them stand out and gives the bear more character. He still has the Pud Bears shape and design which has evolved since 1996 when I first started making bears - long arms, large feet, a shaped back and tubby tummy.
I have also finished an 8" jade green bear, called Jade (not very original I know, but I had a brain block on choosing a name for her).
She is made from my trusted 8" bear pattern, but again I have not trimmed her nose back a much, and she has the white rims to her eyes. My niece says she looks as if she is thinking of something naughty to do - a very mischievous bear.
They are both available in my Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/pollysvintagebears

Three New Pandas
I have finally started to make new Pud Bears after quite a long break. The vintage bears and craft fair stock had taken over.
However, now Summer is coming I need to make more artist bears for the shops that stock my bears - Alices Bear Shop in Lyme Regis, Dorset and House of Bears Bath, Somerset.
I would also like to add some bears to my Etsy shop.
Here are the latest designs - two 8" 3 coloured Pandas and a traditional larger Panda.
All stitched up and heads stuffed ready to give them a face.
Three little characters waiting patiently for their bodies to be ready.
I am particularly pleased with how the larger head looks. I have changed the way I trim the nose and given them a white rim to the eyes.
Looking at the photo of Sidney (my Cavalier) to the right of this, it is not wonder I like this head lol.

A Bear That has me Baffled
I have this cute little bear that has me puzzled as to her origins.
She has a sweet face, with quite close set eyes and a prominent dainty nose with black stitching.
Her arms look very Chiltern, but not her legs. Could she be a Chad Valley, as some of their bears were made similar to Chiltern.
Her head is fixed as in some of the Pedigree bears I have come across, but she really doesn't look from this 'stable'.
Her golden mohair fur is in quite a good condition, the main areas of concern being her feet pads.
They have been replaced, but not attached very neatly, so I will redo them. Her paw pads are worn, but not enough to need replacing in my opinion.
Any suggestions as to her maker? She is one of those bears that I look at, and look at and just can't decide who she is. :(
